Radio Days

Here are a few audio memories from my broadcasting days in South Florida as a roving radio reporter.
This page under construction, audio clips to be added soon.

President Visits South Florida
So much national news happened in South Florida, there was always a chance to file a report with a major network (AP, CBS, Mutual, UPI, depending on the affiliation of the radio station I was working at, at the time). This is a spot about a Jimmy Carter visit to Miami Beach that was used on Mutual News.

John Connally Campaign
Here's a bit of an interview with the former Texas governor during his presidential campaign. Connally was in Miami just after the South Carolina primary, which he lost to Ronald Reagan. He dropped out of the race a short time later.

Ronald Reagan Campaign
This report on a Reagan visit to a Coral Gables, Florida church was used on AP Radio, thanks to the natural sound. (When I first called AP to offer the voicer, the producer wasn't interested. But he changed his mind after hearing the organ music.)
